Mesh consultancy
brand + identity design
MESH Consultancy provides a research-lead, industry practice consultancy service from the School of Arts at Murdoch University.
MESH was ready to re-brand their services and create an identity that was familiar to Murdoch University but still stood out as its own entity.

I did a number of interviews with students, industry professionals and lecturers to find out what the consultancy means to different people and how it is perceived. Research revealed that MESH represented teamwork, multi-disciplinary collaboration and design thinking to mention a few.
I began by trying to visualise what teamwork and collaboration could look like. The idea of a domino worked perfectly... It embodies fun, thinking, joining ideas together and tradition. Modern dominoes have been around since the 18th Century and still remain timeless and iconic in society. The following sketches play with the domino idea, particularly the way the dots face and work with different typefaces. I decided to change to a sans serif font to show the design studio as more progressive.
I wanted the design to be strong and simple at the same time. This involved stripping away the elements of the design that weren't necessary, (such as the shape outlining the domino), and picking a sans serif typeface that has strong lines and shapes. The SK-Modernist font was perfect because the circular shape of the ‘e’ mirrored the braille dots.
